Willett Public Affairs Leads State Legislative Delegation Visit for Client Burke Rehabilitation

Willett Public Affairs recently led a productive legislative roundtable discussion for client Burke Rehabilitation. This event, organized by Willett, provided a platform for in-depth discussions between Burke Rehabilitation and Westchester state legislators. Burke Rehabilitation is a nationally recognized healthcare provider, specializing in rehabilitation treatment and research, offering a wide variety of outpatient rehabilitation services.

Willett invited the Westchester legislators to view Burke’s state-of-the-art patient equipment in action. The new location for the CAT scan suite, where Willett recently secured $1 million in state grant funding, and the Walkbot, an exoskeletal treadmill that aids patients in regaining their gait and balance, were showcased. The event gave legislators and their staff a chance to see first-hand how Burke’s system of care can improve patient outcomes.

After the demonstration and tour, the legislators and staff met with Burke Rehabilitation’s Chief Executive Officer, Scott Edelman, to discuss key issues that affect Burke, such as state Medicaid rates, grant funding for new programs, and how to improve access to care for New Yorkers who need inpatient rehabilitation services.

Willett Public Affairs is proud of its advocacy work for Burke Rehabilitation and the political relationships it has helped Burke establish with area state legislators,  and we look forward to continuing our success in building bridges between our clients and key elected officials.
